International Shipping to the United States via Japan Post EMS Is Now Available

Aiyu Japan is pleased to confirm that international shipments from Japan to the United States are currently available again through Japan Post EMS (Express Mail Service).

For shipments sent through this method, the applicable U.S. customs duties must be prepaid before the package is dispatched from Japan. Aiyu Japan will complete this process on behalf of the customer, allowing the shipment to leave Japan with the required customs payment already registered. Japan Post currently requires advance duty payment for qualifying merchandise shipments to the United States.

At present, the estimated customs charge for standard products is generally calculated as follows:

Approximately 10% of the declared commercial value of the products, plus a ¥720 of customs clearance and processing fee.

For the time being, this general 10% calculation applies to standard items across most product categories. However, the final amount may vary if a product is subject to a special tariff, customs classification, or additional U.S. import requirement.

Once your package has been prepared and is ready to leave Japan, you will receive a separate invoice containing the details of the applicable customs duties and processing fee. This invoice must be paid before the international shipment can be dispatched.

Aiyu Japan always declares the actual commercial value of the products and completes the prepaid customs process before shipment. This procedure is also reflected in Aiyu Japan’s official service guide.
