Importer and documentation
Unless the route and contract expressly indicate otherwise, the recipient is responsible for meeting the import requirements of their country: identification, tax registration, permits, personal limits and response to requests.
Aiyu prepares or facilitates the documentation that corresponds to its management and provides the carrier with order information. Hiring a service with dispatch does not guarantee that all merchandise will be admitted nor does it replace a permit that the importer must provide.
Declared value and content
Accurate descriptions and actual values supported by the transaction are used. The locker customer must declare contents and value correctly and keep authentic receipts, also for used or private purchases.
Aiyu may exceptionally request original purchase documents, invoices, receipts or product documentation when they are necessary to facilitate international shipping, clear customs or resolve a specific verification. It will indicate what is needed and how to provide it; originals are not required to be sent routinely for all products.
It is not acceptable to artificially reduce the value, declare a purchase as a gift to obtain an improper advantage, omit quantities or ingredients, or invent the country of manufacture. Departure from Japan does not mean that the product is of Japanese origin.
Duties, taxes and expenses
There may be tariffs, VAT or other taxes, shipping, carrier advances, inspection, customs storage or handling fees. The base and threshold depend on the country, product, value and import regime.
It will be indicated if the route charges taxes in advance or to the recipient. When they are not expressly included, it will be reported that they may be required separately. An estimated amount does not bind the customs authority nor does it imply that there will never be an adjustment.
Japanese taxes
The invoice identifies the purchase price and taxes applicable to the services according to their actual treatment. A tax already included by the seller is not added twice. The tax treatment or an eventual recovery of taxes by Aiyu does not in itself create a right of the client to receive a percentage of refund.
Withholding, rejection or return
If an authority requests information, the client must respond within its deadline. Aiyu will facilitate what is legitimately in its power. The lack of documents, non-payment of taxes or rejection by the recipient may cause return, storage or disposal by the authority.
These expenses must be justified and allocated according to the cause and agreed conditions. If the error comes from the declaration prepared by Aiyu based on correct data, Aiyu will assume 100% of the costs of correcting it and any direct damages attributable to it. There is no general exemption because it is a customs incident.
Advance review
For cosmetics, food, batteries, spare parts and high-value products, please check the admission before purchasing. The general guidelines of Aiyu are not equivalent to a binding customs ruling. The output documentation falls within the Japan Customs export procedures.
