    Japan offers many products that are difficult to buy online, especially limited anime goods, trading cards, fashion items, pop-up merchandise and second-hand collectibles. In many cases, these items are available only at physical stores and cannot be purchased through an international checkout.

    Aiyu Japan helps customers access these products through our in-store shopping service in Osaka. Our staff can visit selected physical stores in the Osaka area, attempt the purchase on your behalf, bring the item to our warehouse, and prepare it for storage, consolidation or international shipping.

    Buying from Japan Is Not Only an Online Process

    Most customers use Aiyu Japan to purchase from Japanese online stores by submitting a product link, receiving a quotation, and completing the payment before Aiyu Japan buys the item on their behalf.

    However, not every product in Japan is available online. Many items are sold only at physical stores, while others may be shown online but require an in-person visit to complete the purchase. This is especially common with limited releases, pop-up store products, second-hand collectibles and exclusive goods.

    These requests often include anime merchandise, Pokémon products, trading cards, acrylic stands, plush toys, figures, fashion items, sneakers, cosmetics, CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays and other Japanese collectibles.

    For customers who cannot visit Japan personally, Aiyu Japan offers an in-store shopping service in Osaka. Our staff can assist with selected physical store purchases in the Osaka area, helping customers access products that may not be available through standard online shopping.

     

    What Is Aiyu Japan’s In-Store Shopping Service?

    Aiyu Japan’s in-store shopping service allows customers to request purchases from selected physical stores in the Osaka area.

    After reviewing the request, our staff can visit the store, attempt to purchase the requested item, bring it to our Osaka warehouse, and register it under the customer’s account. Once processed, the item can be stored, consolidated with other packages, or prepared for international shipping.

    This service is ideal for products that are not available online, stores that do not offer delivery, or items that require an in-person purchase in Japan.

    Please note that this service is currently limited to Osaka and nearby areas covered by Aiyu Japan staff. Physical store shopping is not available across all prefectures in Japan at this time.

    When Should You Use This Service?

    The in-store shopping service is recommended when a product is difficult or impossible to buy online.

    For example, you may need this service if a store announces a release on social media but does not provide an online purchase page. You may also need it if the product is available only inside a shopping mall, hobby store, anime shop, second-hand store or pop-up event.

    It is also useful when the store accepts only in-person purchases, when the item is limited by location, or when online stock has already sold out but physical store stock may still exist.

    In practical terms, this service is best suited for products that require local presence in Japan.


    How the Process Works

    The process starts when the customer contacts Aiyu Japan staff with the store details and product information. Since physical store purchases require an in-person visit, the request must include enough details for our team to identify the correct location, confirm the product, and review whether the item can be purchased and shipped internationally.

    Customers should provide the store name, address or map link, product name, product photo, price, quantity, preferred size, color, model or version, and any important instructions. For limited releases, pop-up stores or temporary campaigns, it is also important to include the sale date, event details and any official announcement from the store.

    Once reviewed, the process is simple:

    1. Aiyu Japan confirms whether the purchase attempt is possible.
    2. If accepted, an invoice is sent to the customer’s email.
    3. The invoice includes the in-store shopping fee, product cost and normal item service fee.
    4. After payment is confirmed, Aiyu Japan staff visits the store.
    5. If the item is available, it is purchased and brought to our Osaka warehouse.
    6. Once processed, the item appears in the customer’s Aiyu Japan account.

    The in-store shopping fee is ¥1,500 per store visit, and the normal service fee starts from ¥500 per item, depending on the product value.

    From the customer’s account, the item can be stored, consolidated with other packages, prepared with additional services, or shipped internationally.

    A clear request helps reduce delays and avoid mistakes. Physical store purchases depend on real-time availability, so staff must be able to identify the correct product quickly and accurately.

    In-Store Shopping Fees

    Aiyu Japan uses a clear fee structure for physical store purchases in Osaka.

    The in-store shopping service has a base fee of:

    ¥1,500 per store trip

    This fee includes transportation and up to approximately one hour from arrival at the store.

    If the visit requires more than one hour after arrival, an additional ¥1,500 block may apply.

    In addition to the store trip fee, the normal Aiyu Japan item service fee also applies to each product purchased.

    The product price itself is calculated separately. International shipping is also not included at this stage, because it can only be calculated after the item arrives at the warehouse and the final package weight and dimensions are confirmed.

    Payment processing fees may also apply depending on the selected payment method, normally Stripe proccesing fee is 3.9%.

     


     

    What Happens If the Item Is Sold Out?

    Physical store shopping depends on real-time stock.

    Even if a product appears available online, in a store announcement or on social media, it may sell out before staff arrives. Some stores also apply purchase limits, change sales conditions, restrict certain products to specific customers, or stop selling an item without prior notice.

    Aiyu Japan can attempt the purchase, but product availability cannot be guaranteed.

    This is especially important for limited products, trading cards, Pokémon releases, anime collaborations, pop-up store items and second-hand collectibles. These products can move quickly, and in some cases, only a few units may be available.

    If the item is no longer available when staff arrives, the purchase cannot be completed. Staff will update the customer according to the situation and the conditions previously confirmed.

    Where the Product Goes After Purchase

    After a successful in-store purchase, the product is brought to Aiyu Japan’s warehouse in Osaka.

    The item is then processed and registered under the customer’s account. Once it appears in the account, the customer can manage it in the same way as other Aiyu Japan purchases.

    From the account, customers can request storage, additional services, consolidation or international shipping.

    Aiyu Japan offers free storage with no current time limit, which allows customers to wait for more items before shipping. This is useful for customers who want to combine physical store purchases with online purchases, package forwarding items or other products bought through Aiyu Japan.


     

    Can In-Store Purchases Be Consolidated?

    Yes. In-store purchases can be consolidated with other eligible packages.

    This is one of the main advantages of using Aiyu Japan. A customer may request a physical store purchase in Osaka, buy items from Japanese online stores, receive self-purchased packages through the Aiyu Japan warehouse, and later combine everything into one international shipment when ready.

    Consolidation is currently free and can help reduce international shipping costs, especially when several small packages are stored separately.

    Customers should note that original boxes may be removed or adjusted during consolidation if this helps optimize package size. If the customer wants to keep original product boxes, this instruction should be sent before requesting consolidation or international shipping.

    Optional Services After the Product Arrives

    Once the product is registered at the warehouse, customers may request additional services depending on the item and their needs.

    These services are useful when the customer wants to check the item condition, protect the product better, reduce package volume or prepare the parcel more carefully before international shipping.

    A detailed photo may be useful for collectibles, second-hand products, figures, trading cards, fashion items or products where condition matters. Video service can also help customers visually confirm the item before shipping.

    For fragile items, bubble protection or maximum protection may be recommended before international shipment.


    International Shipping from Japan After an In-Store Purchase

    The international shipping process begins only after the product has arrived at the warehouse and the customer requests shipment from the account.

    Aiyu Japan calculates international shipping based on the actual package weight, dimensions, destination country, available carriers and product restrictions. The customer can then choose from the available shipping methods.

    Depending on the country and package type, available methods may include Japan Post options, EMS, DHL, UPS or private shipping services where available.

    After the customer pays the international shipping cost, Aiyu Japan prepares and dispatches the package. Tracking is provided once the shipment is processed.

    Customers should remember that customs duties, import taxes and destination country regulations are the customer’s responsibility. Aiyu Japan always declares the real commercial value of the products and does not under-declare or mark packages as gifts.


    How Long Does the Process Take?

    The timeline depends on the request, store location, staff availability, store opening hours and product availability.

    As a general reference, request review may take from a few minutes to several hours depending on the complexity of the case and staff availability. Store visit scheduling depends on operational capacity and the store’s business hours.

    If the product is available and the purchase is completed, the item must still be brought back to the Osaka warehouse and processed before appearing in the customer’s account.

    Once the package is ready, consolidation may take up to 48 business hours if requested. After international shipping is paid, dispatch is usually completed within approximately 48 hours, depending on the shipping method, warehouse workload and carrier schedule.

    For urgent releases or limited items, customers should contact Aiyu Japan as early as possible.


    Important Limitations to Know Before Requesting

    The in-store shopping service is a purchase assistance service. Aiyu Japan helps customers access physical stores in Osaka, but some conditions are outside of Aiyu Japan’s control.

    Aiyu Japan cannot guarantee that the product will remain in stock, that the store will allow the purchase, that quantity limits will not apply, or that the price will remain unchanged.

    Aiyu Japan also cannot purchase or ship products that are prohibited by Japanese law, carrier rules, export regulations or destination country restrictions.

    Some products may require special review before purchase, especially liquids, cosmetics, food items, supplements, electronics with batteries, large products, fragile items and restricted goods.

    If there is any doubt, customers should contact staff before requesting the purchase.
