02 · Step by step
When you pay for what
Pick your service and follow your order’s journey. Steps with a red stamp are the moments you pay.
With the Shopping Agent
1. You send the link
From your account: product link, variant (size, colour, version) and quantity.
2. We send a quote
We check the store, price, stock and whether the item can ship to your country. Quotes are in yen (JPY).
3. You accept and pay
Item + ¥500 per item + domestic shipping if the store charges it + payment processing. Paying doesn’t reserve stock: we buy once your payment is confirmed.
4. We buy it
We let you know once the purchase is confirmed. If the store cancels or it’s sold out, we return the amount as Aiyu Japan credits.
5. It arrives in Osaka
We log your item and store it for free, with no general time limit.
6. You choose what to ship
Pick the items you want to receive together. Standard consolidation is free.
7. You choose shipping and pay
With your box ready you see its weight, size and available methods. You pick destination and method, then pay shipping, any extras you requested and payment processing.
8. Dispatch and delivery
You get the tracking number. If your route didn’t collect taxes in advance, the recipient pays them.
With the Forwarding Service
1. You copy your address
Your Osaka address with your AJ code is in My account.
2. You buy from the store
You pay the store directly. The purchase and its warranty stay between you and the store.
3. We log your package
Every package that arrives is linked to your account. Fee: ¥1,000 per package received.
4. Free storage
No monthly fee while you wait for other purchases to ship together.
5. You request shipping
You declare the contents and their real value. We may ask for proof of purchase if needed.
6. You pay when shipping
¥1,000 per package received + international shipping + extras you requested + payment processing, once the box is ready.
7. Dispatch and delivery
You get the tracking number. Your country’s taxes are paid as your route specifies.

Shipping is paid once your box is ready
Once your items are in Osaka and your box is consolidated and ready to go, you choose the destination and the shipping method. That’s when you see the exact price and pay. It depends on:

Actual vs. volumetric weight
With DHL and Aiyu Air you pay for billable weight: the greater of what the box weighs and the space it takes up.
40 × 30 × 25 ÷ 5,000 = 6 kg
length × width × height (cm) ÷ divisor
EMS and Airmail charge actual weight and UPS charges by box size, so volumetric weight doesn’t apply to them.
Example: the 40 × 30 × 25 cm box has a 6 kg volumetric weight. If it actually weighs 4 kg, DHL or Aiyu Air quote it at 6 kg, subject to the carrier’s rounding.

What your shipping quote includes
If there are destination charges not included, we tell you: the carrier or customs may collect them from the recipient.
Does combining always save?
Often, but not always: a bigger box can be charged by volume or size, add value or go over the method’s limits. Before you pay, we show you the options with the real weight and size.
05 · Your country’s taxes
Taxes: your country’s
Your country’s customs sets them based on the item and its value. There are only two ways to pay: when the package arrives, or in advance on routes with prepayment.
We declare the real contents and value. We can’t declare a lower value, label a purchase as a gift or leave items out. If we make a declaration error with your correct details, we cover 100% of the correction.

06 · Payments & processing
How you pay and what payment processing is
You pay from your account, in yen, with the method you prefer.
Credit or debit card
Secure payment with Stripe.
PayPal
With your PayPal account or with a credit or debit card. You don’t need a PayPal account.
Bank transfer or others
Only when Aiyu Japan enables it and gives you instructions.
Payment processing isn’t an Aiyu Japan fee
Credit and debit cards and PayPal charge 4–5% to process each payment. It isn’t our profit or an Aiyu Japan fee, but we have to collect it to receive your payment. It appears as a separate line on your quote.

All payments are in Japanese yen (JPY). Amounts in your currency are only approximate, and your bank may add a fee for paying in local currency. If the payment method lets you choose, pick yen (JPY).
Security
We’ll never ask for your full card number, passwords or verification codes. We confirm every payment in our system, not from screenshots.
Payment processing is non-refundable. Once your money reaches Aiyu Japan, Stripe or PayPal have already taken their fee, and Aiyu Japan can’t get it back. So if you request a refund, it’s returned without the payment processing. The only exception is when the error is ours. Please always keep this in mind before paying.
07 · Cancellations & refunds
If something changes, what happens to your money?
It depends on what stage your order is at.
Stage 1
You haven’t paid the invoice yet
You’re not charged anything.
Stage 2
Paid, but not purchased yet
You can still cancel. We return the amount as Aiyu Japan credits for another purchase. If you prefer a refund to your payment method, it’s returned without the payment processing.
Stage 3
We already bought it
It can only be cancelled if the store allows it: we check its policies first. If the store doesn’t accept the cancellation, there’s no refund. Check carefully before you pay.
Stage 4
Store cancels or sold out
We cancel the order and return the money as credits in your Aiyu Japan account.
Stage 5
Aiyu Japan error
We refund 100%, including payment processing.
Credits stay in your account for your next purchase or shipment. Payment processing is only refunded when the error is Aiyu Japan’s. When a refund reaches your payment method depends on your bank or PayPal.

Q Does signing up cost anything? ▼
No. Signing up is free and there are no monthly fees.
Q What’s the fee for a ¥15,000 item? ▼
¥500, the same as for a ¥1,000 item. The item price and other costs are shown separately.
Q If I use the Shopping Agent, do I also pay the forwarding fee? ▼
No. An item we bought doesn’t pay the forwarding fee when it arrives at the warehouse.
Q Why don’t I know the shipping cost when I pay for the item? ▼
Because it depends on the packed box’s weight, size and method. You can estimate it with the shipping calculator and pay once your box is ready.
Q Is payment processing an Aiyu Japan fee? ▼
No. Stripe and PayPal charge it to process your payment (4–5%). It isn’t our profit and it’s non-refundable, unless the error is ours.
Q Do I need a PayPal account? ▼
No. You can pay by credit or debit card with Stripe, or by card through PayPal without an account.
Q Can I pay in my currency? ▼
All payments are in yen. Amounts in your currency are approximate and your bank may charge for paying in local currency; if you can choose, pick yen (JPY).
Q What if the store cancels or it sells out? ▼
We cancel the order and return the money as credits in your Aiyu Japan account.
Q How long do you store my items for free? ▼
Standard storage is free with no general time limit. Items needing refrigeration or special conditions require prior approval.
Q Do item photos cost extra? ▼
The basic content photo is free and kept for about 7 days. A detailed photo is ¥500 per item and a video ¥1,200.
Q Can you declare a lower value or a gift? ▼
No. We always declare the real contents and value of your package.
